Outrage compass

It is possible to #PrayForParis without ignoring Syria, Lebanon, Nigeria, Palestine, and any other region ravaged by evil. It is possible to sympathise with the French and still be cognisant of France’s history. It is possible to empathise with those mercilessly killed in Paris, and recognise that disparities in outrage exist.

And before we start blaming Islam as a religion, can we remember that Muslims are not ISIS, and ISIS doesn’t speak for Muslims. ISIS has killed Muslims too. ISIS exists to sow discord and create a black and white world; the gray area in which we all coexist with mutual respect over our differences is the enemy of ISIS. Anyone, irrespective of race, religion or ethnicity who supports Islamophobia is a friend of ISIS.
