Leymah Gbowee: “Activism is something that no one can take. You get angry. You cry. But you never throw in your towel because that anger is what is propelling you to further action.” I am angry. Unapologetically so. I am a mad, black woman. I have no idea how to fight the battle against privilege and oppression, be it based on gender, sex, sexuality, race; nonetheless I am committed to taking up figurative arms to being an agent of change.
Activism is the only rent required of me to live on this world. I am very willing to pay it.
